Elegant digital and print materials that honour the school’s rich heritage.
Mill Hill School is one of the UK’s most prestigious independent schools, known for its heritage and mission to provide excellent education to students of all backgrounds. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Lucia, their Director of Development, on a series of materials aimed at Old Millhillians, parents, and friends of the school.
These pieces needed to resonate with an older audience while staying true to Mill Hill’s values and maintaining a refined, premium look. The goal: to strengthen community ties and inspire contributions to the school’s bursary funds.
I approached each piece with intention; using structured layouts, clear and legible typography, and lots of white space to make the reader’s job as easy as possible. My role extended beyond simply making things look good, I ensured every design was practical for it's readers whilst fulfilling it's mission. The materials I designed include:
Supporting Mill Hill Leaflet – a leaflet designed to inform and inspire donations
The Portico – a monthly newsletter produced in both print and digital formats
Every design was created from an editorial mindset; balancing narrative flow, visual pacing, and tone of voice.
The materials have played an essential role in helping Mill Hill communicate with their extended school community. Whether read by alumni or current parents, each design piece builds the Mill Hill community resulting in more dontations to their bursary schemes.
"Charlotte is a great communicator, reliable, efficient and works to the brief while bringing in her own creative flair. It is a pleasure working with her and we now work with her regularly on our booklet designs – she’s become an essential part of our team!"
